Mxit - Use it on your Computer - Video Lesson

UPDATE : The method described below still works , but mxit has a new PC version using the Pidgin client here

To use mxit on your computer - you must have the following :

#1. A fast internet line. Any ADSL , 3G , Iburst or Sentech connection will do.

#2 A computer with Windows XP. It may work on other operating systems - I dont know.

Dual Core Processors

Both Intel and AMD are putting on a big advertising push for their dual core processors. The commercials and print ads sound as if a new world is being opened in personal computing. But what does dual core technology mean for the average user?

The term “dual core” is self-explanatory. You have two computing cores in one processor. Having two cores means your computer can perform two different tasks at the same time efficiently.

For example, let’s say you’re into video editing in a big way. You’ve just finished a movie sequence, and you want to compile all the clips, render special effects, and do all the things required to upload it to the web. In the meantime, you want to work on a 3-D animation you’ve been trying to get right.

Laptop or Desktop??

When asking the question which is better to buy a tower/workstation or a laptop the question used to come down to the size of your wallet. For a long time PC towers were simply cheaper than a laptop to buy. Normally half the price for the same specifications.

This is now no longer the case as the price of a laptop is now comparable to that of a tower. So now cost is no longer the main issue lets consider the advantages/disadvantages each type of system has.
